Chelsea have not given up hope of signing Dynamo Moscow’s Arsen Zakharyan.
The Blues were heavily linked with the 19-year-old midfielder during the summer transfer window, but the move collapsed in the end due to the FIFA and UEFA restrictions on signing Russian players.
The teenager had previously been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but the latest reports reportedly point towards a move to Stamford Bridge in the future.
Despite Chelsea’s struggles to sign the Russian, the situation looks more promising as the attacker has reportedly applied to change his citizenship from Russian to Armenian.
It is suggested that the Blues are ready and willing to meet Zakharyan’s release clause as early as the winter transfer window.
Zakharyan has made 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
