Chelsea’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola gains momentum

Chelsea’s pursuit of Lyon’s 20-year-old talent Bradley Barcola has received a significant boost as the winger expresses his desire to depart the French club.

Football Transfers reports that the Frenchman aims to leave Lyon before the transfer window closes, raising Chelsea’s optimism about securing the youngster, who has attracted attention from various clubs due to his standout performances.

Having emerged as Lyon’s rising star following Ryan Cherki, Barcola boasts a record of seven goals and ten assists in the past season, establishing himself as one of Ligue 1’s most productive players. While PSG initially appeared as the frontrunner for Barcola’s signature, the pursuit has encountered a setback due to Lyon’s €60 million valuation.

Chelsea are in their search for attacking reinforcements, targeted Barcola as a potential candidate. Although they previously pursued Michael Olise, who eventually extended his contract with Crystal Palace, Barcola’s potential availability offers the Blues an enticing option.

Given Chelsea’s amicable relationship with Lyon following their recent deal for Malo Gusto, there’s a favourable chance for the club to secure Barcola’s services.
