Liverpool keen on Dominik Szoboszlai

Liverpool are reportedly considering Dominik Szoboszlai as a potential target, as they search for alternatives to Mason Mount.

According to Daniel Nielson, the Reds may be interested in pursuing the talented Bundesliga player, who is valued at £45 million, is likely to attract numerous suitors in the summer transfer window. However, he has no intention of forcing his way out of RB Leipzig.

Since joining Leipzig from RB Salzburg in January 2021, Szoboszlai has been regarded as a future star and has consistently impressed with his performances in domestic and European competitions.

Chelsea and Newcastle United have previously shown interest in the player and could become contenders for his signature if they fail to reach agreements with their primary targets.

Journalist Daniel Nielson has now suggested that Liverpool are actively pursuing the £45 million-rated Bundesliga star as an alternative to Mason Mount, who has been their primary target for a few months.

Liverpool had already laid the groundwork to sign Mason Mount if he became available for a transfer in the summer. Chelsea’s financial situation could potentially lead to the sale of the 24-year-old, who might explore his options in the upcoming transfer window. With only a year left on his contract, several clubs have the opportunity to compete for his signature.

Recent reports suggest that Man United and Arsenal are also interested, with the 20-time English champions reportedly prepared to make a substantial offer.

There were suggestions that Mount would prefer joining Liverpool over signing a new deal with Chelsea, which provided some hope to the Merseyside club. However, Klopp and Liverpool will only consider pursuing the 24-year-old if the price is right, as they aim to avoid getting involved in a bidding war.
