Man United to launch £73m Arjen Robben bid

Manchester United have reportedly turned their attention towards Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, and will reportedly make a £73m bid for the Dutch international, according to the Daily Express.

The Red Devils were thought to be interested in signing former Barcelona star Pedro, but the Spaniard moved to Chelsea last week.

The report claims that United boss Louis van Gaal is preparing a massive bid to sign an attacking midfielder before the summer transfer window shuts down on September 1, and the Holland manager keen to bring Robben to Old Trafford as his marquee signing.

Manchester United have already signed five players this summer, including Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sergio Romero.

Robben, 31, scored 17 goals in 21 games for the Bavarians last season – has won three Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League during his time at the Allianz Arena.
