Manchester City remain hopeful over deal to sign Jude Bellingham

Manchester City remain optimistic that they will be able to strike a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham during next summer’s transfer window.

The England international is widely expected to leave Dortmund next year, with a number of clubs across Europe are said to be interested in his signature.

Manchester United and Chelsea remain interested, but it is believed that Real Madrid and Liverpool are leading the race for his services.

However, according to The Sun, Manchester City believe that they are in pole position to sign Bellingham next year.

The report adds that the Premier League champions are confident that the presence of Pep Guardiola will convince the 19-year-old midfielder to make the move to the Etihad.

The teenager has starred for BVB during the 2022-23 campaign, contributing nine goals and three assists in 22 appearances in all competitions.

There have been suggestions that the Bundesliga giants want as much as £130m for the midfielder, who is under contract until 2025.
