Tottenham to launch January bid for Lloyd Kelly

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eager to secure the services of Bournemouth’s 25-year-old centre-back Lloyd Kelly during the upcoming winter transfer window. Despite a failed attempt in the summer, Spurs are determined to outbid Liverpool, who is also vying for the English defender.

Kelly, who joined Bournemouth in 2019 from Bristol City, has impressed with 124 appearances and nine goals for the Cherries. Despite being sidelined for eight matches this season due to injury, interest in his talents remains high.

In the previous transfer window, Spurs submitted a £20 million bid, which Bournemouth rejected due to insufficient time to find a replacement. Now, with Kelly’s contract set to expire at the end of the season and his reluctance to sign a new deal, both Spurs and Liverpool are keen on acquiring him.

Ange Postecoglou, aware of the need for defensive reinforcements at Spurs, remains undeterred by Micky van de Ven’s injury and is keen on bolstering the squad. Liverpool, under Jurgen Klopp, sees Kelly as a valuable addition to their defensive lineup, considering his experience in the Premier League.

As the winter transfer window approaches, the competition between Spurs and Liverpool for Lloyd Kelly’s signature intensifies, adding another layer of intrigue to the upcoming transfer activities.
