Chelsea are willing to sell midfielder Juan Mata to premier league rivals Manchester United for £40m, according to the Daily Mail reports.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is willing to sell unsettled Spanish international for £40m to Manchester United, but there are some rumours that Moyes made a £37m bid to lure Chelsea midfielder.

After losing 3-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, David Moyes requires new talents in their lineup in order to defend the league title this season.

The 25-year-old has struggled this season with only 11 League starts and failed to impress Mourinho of his worth since last summer. Even though with his poor form, Mata is one of the popular figures amongst the Blues and the fans as well.

Chelsea performance has been sensational this season currently sit third place in league table, two points behind leaders Arsenal.

However, Chelsea still have continued interest in United ace Wayne Rooney, but Moyes has already confirmed that the striker is not for sale.
